More than a reflection on nature’s changing temporality, in my view this picture represents humans’ moral decay. Who would, in their right mind, leave boarding stairs in a field? And yet, in the Spanish countryside, in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by tamed nature, agricultural crops, and some isolated trees, stood these old boarding stairs from Iberia Airlines. It made no sense and yet all the sense in the world: humans’ disregard for nature’s logic, thoughtlessly disfiguring it.
