Taken in the Haagse Bos, this photo shows the regenerative essence of decay. In nature, life does not end in death; instead, it continues on in the surrounding environment. The tree stump in this photo symbolizes that out of decay, life can flourish from remnants of the past. As we face a continuing climate crisis, we can learn from nature and embrace decay to forge new systems in synchrony with our collective history. Decay is not only the end of life, but also the beginning of a continuous cycle.
